Matt Cianfrani is a Cinematographer based in New York City.

His journey into cinematography began with a study in photography at the University of Pennsylvania. Following this, he pursued a Master’s in Fine Arts at Hunter College with a Lietz / Riedel Fellowship at the Universität der Künste Berlin in Germany. Matt then pursued a PHD in Art History and Philosophy at the University of Bern in Switzerland.

Matt’s career took a significant turn, after a reorientation of personal goals, and became involved in creating educational and humanitarian content. His work in this field was notable for organizations like the Swiss Government’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Matt's career is marked by a wide range of global experiences. He has worked in diverse locations from Greenland to Kosovo, Vietnam to Tanzania, and Moldova to Peru. These projects often led him to areas characterized by conflict, but also places of incredible natural beauty and cultural significance.

Matt’s focus encompasses a variety of genres including narrative, commercial, fashion, and documentary projects.
